Hakuba is becoming quite popular and busy very quickly! To secure the best rates and a wider range of options, we kindly recommend starting your search for accommodation as early as possible. You can begin exploring options for the next ski season as early as May or June.

Hakuba offers a variety of cuisines, including traditional Japanese dishes like sushi, ramen, and izakaya-style food, as well as international options such as Italian, French, and American-style dining. You’ll also find cozy cafés and après-ski dining spots.

  • Kikyo-ya: Offers fresh sushi and sashimi sourced locally.
  • Pizzakaya: Known for wood-fired pizzas and a relaxed atmosphere. Do not miss their Blue cheese pizza.
  • Garlic: Italian restaurants with lost of pizza and pasta options.
  • Sounds Like Café: Known for vegetarian and vegan-friendly options, including delicious smoothies and salads.
  • Ooshimo: The cheapest and the most delicious meal in the town.
  • Grindel: do not miss their Salmon Steak.
  • Samurai Kebab: Halal Muslim Friendly restaurants with a lively atmosphere.
  • Cafe & Bar LION: Best cookie in the town.

It’s highly recommended, especially during the ski season (December–March), as Hakuba is a popular tourist destination and restaurants can fill up quickly.

Hakuba caters to a range of budgets. Casual eateries and izakayas are affordable, with meals ranging from ¥1,000–¥3,000. Fine dining can cost ¥5,000 or more per person.
